Does Odoo support approval workflows for purchase orders or do we need a custom module?
We need multi level approval before any purchase order over a certain amount goes out. Is that built into Odoo's Purchase app already or would that need custom development?

Standard double validation above a set amount is built in already, that part's just a settings toggle. Where it usually needs a bit of custom work is if you need more than 2 approval tiers or routing based on department or role, that's typically a small module, not a huge build.

Standard double approval over our threshold worked fine for us straight out of the box, didn't need any custom code at all.

We needed 3 tiers based on department budget and that did need a small custom module, wasn't expensive though, just not something standard Odoo does on its own.
